Cultural Exchanges[]

What ever happened to the "Cultural Exchanges" PSA? It seems to have been wiped off the face of the internet. 92.4.41.89 00:29, October 27, 2011 (UTC)

I don't know. I'm afraid I've never seen it. If you have information on it, it would really help if you created a page and added it.Sniperteam82308 I Wanna Pony 00:37, October 27, 2011 (UTC)
I have it downloaded under the name "Cultural Appreciation".Korra Royal 01:49, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
Cultural Appreciation was released in 2019, "Cultural Exchanges" is an EIEF video that I don't think is available anywhere; it was released in the 2000s. Oo7nightfire (talk) 16:34, 1 April 2021 (UTC)

Point/Counterpoint: Celebrating the Holidays A Special Holiday Message[]

I can't find this video anywhere. I've searched high and low and can't find it anywhere. Would anybody here happen to have it or know where it can be found? Korra Royal 01:49, 1 April 2021 (UTC)

Inferring airdates from halo.bungie.org[]

The fansite halo.bungie.org has an archive of all their old posts, and if you search red vs blue it appears that they have an update message nearly every time a new red vs blue video was posted (for sponsors) dating back to the first trailer in September 2002. Some of the very early stuff is out by a few days such as the post about episode 1 on April 4 2003 which is 3 days late, but most of them appear to be on the day of release. Is this credible enough for us to start filling in the airdates of the blood gulch psas and special episodes which don't currently have one? We would probably have to prefix them with 'circa' to show we don't trust the dates entirely, but is that better than leaving them as 'Unknown'? I'm letting you all know this exists anyway in case it's usable for something. Sporadia (talk) 17:50, 14 July 2023 (UTC)

Absolutely! I'd say go ahead! Adding 'circa' helps too just to be safe. Really appreciate the hard work, thank you! Oo7nightfire (talk) 21:32, 14 July 2023 (UTC)
I've added all the airdates for Season 1 today.
There are 2 unknown airdates this season: Episode 0 and the Armor Cleaning PSA.
Episode 0 could have been added any time between September, 2002 and April 4th, 2003. I haven't seen any actual record of the Armor Cleaning PSA's release.
Also I don't understand exactly what airdate means. Sometimes the first date an episode was shown to the public is earlier than the date that it was added to red vs blue website. I'm currently using the earliest date they were shown. Here's a list of the videos that are affected:
BGC E3 Short: (Shown at E3: May 15, 2003) (Added to website: circa July 4, 2003)
New York Video Festival (Shown at event: July 23, 2003) (Added to website: circa July 28, 2003)
Also affected by this are the first 2 episodes of season 2. They started being shown to people who went to watch season 1 at the Lincoln Centre from January 3rd, 2004 (days before they were available on the website). Which date should I use?
Sporadia (talk) 18:54, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
Thank you. For season 2, just stick with the date they were available on the website. Oo7nightfire (talk) 01:35, 16 July 2023 (UTC)
Can do. To keep it consistent I'm now taking airdate to mean:
'The earliest date that the video was added to the red vs blue website, or the xbox live marketplace, or the official website of a company being promoted in the video (such as forbes.com or bungie.net)'
Then if there's an earlier showing, like at a convention or on tv, I will put that somewhere in the opening text of the page.Sporadia (talk) 07:06, 16 July 2023 (UTC)
Unknown airdates for Season 2: Spike TV VGAs 2003, G4ia Awards 2004, Priorities, London Calling, Go For Launch, Barenaked Ladies Tour
For Spike TV VGAs there's a video (circa Dec 4, 2004) and a separate rejected trailer (circa Jan 20, 2005). I have dates for both but I don't know which one the video at the bottom of the page is. It might even be both cut together; I can't tell.
Barenaked Ladies concert is a complicated one. Only 3 videos are accounted for. One is Sublime. The other 2 are unknown but were added to the site circa Dec 14, 2004. I've also seen shaky cam footage of a BNL concert with an RvB introduction that isn't among the vids on the wiki (from 3 March 2004).
There are a couple of references on halo.bungie.org to some 'xbox kiosk videos' which were added to the red vs blue site circa May 24, 2004. But shown in stores during season 1. That's the biggest thing I've come across that isn't on here, but I don't really know what they are.
For Season 3, I will need to change some of the regular episode airdates because I've found evidence of lots of the episodes being released before the wiki says they were. It's like it suddenly stops using the Sponsor date for some reason. Unfortunately all my dates will start with 'circa' unless I find another source. Sporadia (talk) 14:46, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
For the season pages, we usually stick with the public release date and specify earlier release dates on the specific episode pages themselves. Like Prologue, for example. Oo7nightfire (talk) 15:51, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
OK. I've made all the Season 1 and 2 episodes consistent with that. Sporadia (talk) 13:18, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
